Due special Peruvian Regulations there is only 500 spots to enter in the Inka Trail per day. This spots in high season are normally fully booked more than 2 month in advance.

The available spots are provided as a courtesy of the " Direccion Regional de Cultura" from Cusco with their authorization.

This is our most popular trek and this pool option offers visitors the most economical method to trek the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. A pool service is basically a group that you can just join. You'll be trekking with like-minded hikers from all over the world, a great chance to meet new friends and travel companions.

OUR SERVICE INCLUDES:

- Collection from your hotel in the morning.
- Inca Trail & Machu Picchu entrance fees.
- English speaking professional guide (two guides for groups over 9 persons).
- Igloo tents - 2 persons in each 4-person capacity tent with plenty of space for your backpacks.
- Mattress.
- Cook and Cooking equipment.
- Meals (03B,03L,03D) - food includes pancakes, omelets, soups, fresh fruit, avocado, pasta, chicken, fish, meat, rice, all rich in carbohydrates and suitable for trekking, hot drinks including coca leaf tea which is excellent for the altitude.
- Teatime everyday (tea, coffee, biscuits, popcorn).
- Porters (to carry the tents, food, and cooking equipment).
- Dining tent with camp tables.
- Kitchen tent.
- Accommodation for our porters and cooks.
- First aid kit including emergency oxygen bottle.
- Bus from Machu Picchu ruins down to the village of Aguas Calientes.
- Train ticket (Backpackers service) from Aguas Calientes to Cusco.

EXCLUDES:
- Breakfast on the first morning. Some hotels offer an early morning breakfast service. If not, we stop at the town of Urubamba on the way to the start on the trek where you'll have the opportunity to have breakfast.
- Meal in restaurant in Aguas Calientes on day 4 of the trek.
- Entrance to the thermal springs in Aguas Calientes US$1.5.
- Sleeping bags can be hired in our offices.

:: ITINERARY

DAY 01: Inka Trail - Chilca - Wayllabamba
- Transfer to the office at 06.00 AM, to board the bus. Make sure to carry your original passport. Transfer until Km 82. We will start the trail walking about 2-3 Hrs. before lunch. After lunch, we walk untill pass the village of Wayllabamba for our first camping (3000 m.o.s.l.).This first day walking passes through the valley starting from 2800 m.o.s.l. with a small climb, rewarded with superb views of mount Veronica to a platform overlooking the inca site Llactapata. Approx. 14Km. walking - 6 hours.
- Lunch, dinner, overnight in camping site.

DAY 02: Inka Trail - Wayllabamba - Pacaymayo
Breakfast. This is the most difficult day as you walk from about 3000 m.o.s.l. (Dead woman´s pass). You can walk at your own pase, stop to get your breath whenever you want. We continue the trekking down the valley until Pacaymayo. On the second day you can hire a porter from the wayllabamba village to carry your pack to the top of the pass (USD$15.00 Approx.). Campsite at 3600 m.o.s.l. This is the coldest night in the trekk +2/+4 Degrees celcius (December) -3/-5 Degrees celcius (June). Approx. 12Km walking - 7 hours.
- Breakfast, lunch, dinner, overnight in camping site.

DAY 03: Inka Trail - Pacaymayo - Winayhuayna
Breakfast. This day in the trekking is exceptionally beautiful because of the ruins and the incredible Paved Trail (and more important for your lungs, there is a lot more down than up!!!). There are about 2000 escaleras descending from Puyupatamarca to Wiñayhuayna, so be careful if you have had problems with the knees in the past; an extra porter is recommended so that you are not carrying extra weight. Guided tour of all the ruins and camping at Winayhuayna (2700 m.o.s.l.).
- Apart from the streams the only shower on the Inka Trail is on this third night at Winayhuayna. There is hostal near the campsite with an 8 Min. hot shower for 5 soles and bar and restaurant where you can also purchase a bottle of water. Approx. 16Km walking - 6 hours.
- Breakfast, lunch, dinner, overnight in camping site.

DAY 04: Machu Picchu
- Breakfast. Get up extremelly early to arrive at Inti Punku, "The gate of the sun" and view of the first sun rays illuminating Machu Picchu. It is still 20 Min. walk down from here and the famous view is from the terraces at the end of the trail. Take your photos now before crowds arrive around the 10:30.
- Guided Visit to the fabulous inka city of Machu Picchu. Your tour to Machu Picchu should finish between 10:30 and 11:00 am, after you have free time to climb Huayna Picchu (Minimun 90 Min.), or just collapse under the tree in Machu Picchu.
- Down Bus. Return train to Cusco. Transfer to the hotel.

YOU NEED TO HAVE / CARRY:
- Backpack, Sleeping bag (can be hired from our office for US$4 per day).
- Sleeping mattress (we will provide you with this).
- Rain jacket or poncho (plastic ponchos can be purchased in Cusco for a few dollars).
- Strong, comfortable footwear.
- One complete change of clothing (you can afford to carry more changes of clothing if you hire a personal porters, see options below).
- Sweater and jacket (something warm).
- Water bottle and purification tablets (Micropur are recommended and can be bought in local pharmacies in Cusco).
- Flashlight and batteries.
- Hat or cap to protect you from the sun, Sun block (sun protection cream), Insect repellent.
- Toiletries, towel and toilet paper.
- Selection of small snacks, chocolate, dried fruit, biscuits etc.
- Camera, plenty of film and spare batteries.
- Swimsuit (if you plan on visiting the hot springs at Aguas Calientes after the trek).
- You also need to bring your original passport on the trail.

:: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

- Size of our group: Maximun 16 people per group. There is no minimun.
- Departures: Daily.
- Price valid until December 31st, 2013.

OPTIONS:
(1) Personal porters can be hired to help carry your personal items such as clothes, sleeping bag etc. They can be hired for all 4 days and will carry up to a maximum of 18kg (usually 1 porter between 2 persons is more than sufficient). You must decide if you want to hire the services of a personal porter in advance when making your trek reservation since we need to purchase the porter's trekking permit. You cannot decide to hire an additional porter once you arrive in Cusco.
(2) Vegetarian Meals. We can provide vegetarian meals or cater for special diets with no extra cost. Just let us know at least 2 days prior to trek departure.
(3) Sleeping bag hire. If you haven't got a sleeping bag or you don't want the hassle of bringing one all the way to Peru with you then we have sleeping bags in our office for rent.

- Consult for private services.
- The Inka Trail is close all february.
- We will require the full payment of the trekking - non refundable per person payable inmediatly after Rundomundo confirms your trek booking. The deposit is to be paid by Money Gram or Western Union money transfer, bank deposit or Credit Visa or Master Card. Further details of how to send the deposit are included with our trek booking confirmation email.
- Packages that includes Inka Trail only can be booked depending of the available dates in the UGM (Authorities in Cusco). Only 500 people per day are available.
